Sounds of the Season
Come Home for the Holidays With the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra

Grammy-winning music director Michael Repper
The holidays have a way of bringing us back to the things we love: familiar songs, time with family and friends, and traditions that return year after year. Sometimes, a new experience becomes a tradition of its own.
This season, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra invites audiences across Delmarva to make live music part of their holiday celebration.
Before the holidays begin, the MSO will present one final fall Masterworks program on Nov. 5, 7 and 8 in Easton, Rehoboth Beach and Ocean Pines, respectively. The program will feature American composer Mary Howe’s colorful Sand, Stars and Whimsy, along with two enduring favorites, Schubert’s Symphony No. 5 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8.
The MSO’s popular Holiday Joy concerts return on Dec. 3 in Wye Mills, Dec. 5 in Lewes and Dec. 6 in Ocean City. Led by Grammy-winning music director Michael Repper, the full orchestra will be joined by three-time Grammy-winning tenor David Morgans and Canadian mezzo-soprano Lauren Torey, a Juilliard graduate and 2026 Glimmerglass Festival Resident Artist. Together, these accomplished operatic voices bring the artistry of the opera stage to Delmarva for an evening of festive orchestral favorites, vocal solos and duets, carols and holiday cheer.

The MSO’s annual Holiday Joy Gala at the Todd Performing Arts Center will precede the Dec. 3 performance. The gala is one of the orchestra’s largest fundraising events of the year, bringing friends and supporters together to celebrate the season while helping sustain professional orchestral music throughout Delmarva.
The celebration continues later in December with holiday brass concerts by the MSO Brass Quintet on Dec. 18 in Ocean Pines, Dec. 19 in Rehoboth Beach and Dec. 20 in Easton.
These concerts have become a beloved MSO holiday tradition, combining the brilliance of brass and percussion with music that spans generations, cultures and styles. The program moves from Copland and Bach to Glenn Miller and John Williams, alongside traditional carols, Hanukkah melodies and contemporary favorites including “Feliz Navidad.” It is a spirited celebration of the many sounds and traditions that make the holiday season special.
The season’s celebration culminates on Dec. 31 with A Toast to the New Year at Christ Church in Easton. Joining the orchestra will be internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated soprano Laquita Mitchell, a Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions winner whose career has led her to prominent opera and concert stages. Her voice will bring the glamour and excitement of the opera stage to an evening featuring Strauss waltzes, orchestral favorites and music celebrating Vienna’s beloved New Year’s tradition.
Afterward, concertgoers can step into downtown Easton and continue the celebration as the town welcomes 2027 with its New Year’s Eve crab drop.
Whether you have been attending MSO concerts for years or have never experienced a live orchestra, the holidays are a wonderful time to make live music part of your celebration. Bring your family, invite a friend or make it a date night with someone you love.
Perhaps you already have an MSO holiday tradition. Perhaps this is the year you start one.
