VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Goldeneyes unveiled new jerseys on Wednesday as the Professional Women’s Hockey League team readies for its sophomore campaign.
The jersey features the team’s logo — a golden eye encircled by wings — in the centre, and has bronze lines on each sleeve reminiscent of wings. Miniature outlines of the logo sit inside the numbers on the back.
The team said in a release that V-shaped blocking on the lower sides is meant to convey motion and speed, and allude to the “V” in the team’s “flying V” post-game celebration.
The Goldeneyes played their first season in jerseys that featured a diagonal “Vancouver” down the centre, similar to designs worn by the league’s original six teams in the inaugural PWHL campaign.
