Muskies are being taken with large sucker minnows on Bald Eagle Lake and Forest Lake in 10 to 15 feet. The St. Croix River is giving up walleyes and bass on a jig and minnow in 15 to 20 feet. It’s likely you’ll still find pike and bass along the weedlines of most lakes as well.

West Metro

A jig and minnow is producing walleyes on the reefs throughout Lake Waconia in 12 to 15 feet. Hit Piersons Lake for crappies in 12 to 14 feet and throw crankbaits for bass along the 10- to 12-foot weeds on Lake Bavaria. Pheasant hunting reports continue to be best just west of the area, archery hunters are seeing better buck activity, and waterfowl reports have been light.
