MAN, 50, ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TEEN

A 50-YEAR-OLD man accused of sexually assaulting a teenager at his Winnipeg home has been arrested.

Winnipeg Police Service sex crimes investigators were alerted to the alleged assault in September.

Detectives determined that the man and the teen had met at a gathering at a home in southwest Winnipeg and the man later invited the youth to his home, where the youth was sexually and physically assaulted, police say.

Police have not revealed the youth’s gender or age.

Police arrested the suspect last week. The 50-year-old, whose name has not been released, faces charges of sexual assault and assault. He was released by police on an undertaking ahead of a court date.
