TEEN CHARGED IN TAXI STABBING

WINNIPEG police have charged a 16-year-old in the stabbing of a taxi driver last month.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Regent Avenue around 9 p.m. Sept. 25, after a cab driver was stabbed following an argument.

Investigators say the teen boy was a passenger in the cab when the argument broke out and the driver was stabbed. The suspect fled and the driver went to hospital on his own and was treated for serious upper body injuries.

The teen has been charged with assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a sentence. He remains in custody.
