It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kevin Purcell on Sunday, October 4, 2026, with family by his side, after fighting a hard three-and-a-half year battle against cancer.

Kevin was predeceased by his father Peter and his brother Michael. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan; sons Eric and Evan; mother Barbara; sisters Kelly Purcell and Danny O’Gallagher and Kathy Phipps; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Montreal, Kevin spent his formative years in Dollard-des-Ormeaux on the West Island. He worked at the Bar-B-Barn Rib Restaurant, then spent 40 years in the paper distribution business, eventually becoming an outside sales representative. He enjoyed curling, golfing, fishing and playing crib, and was an avid CFL football fan. In October 2026 he was posthumously awarded the Manitoba Print Industries Association Lifetime Achievement Award.

Funeral service and interment will be held Tuesday, October 20, at 10 a.m. at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Light refreshments to follow. Rest in peace, Kevin.
