JAMES MILTON DAVIS

James Milton Davis passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026. His beloved wife of 58 years, Debby Davis, passed away just five days later.

Jim grew up in the Wolseley neighbourhood of Winnipeg and earned his Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba. He spent his entire career with Safeway, working for many years in their cheese plant and later as the superintendent of their ice cream plant.

Though Jim was a private person, he was remarkably warm and engaging with his family. As a father, he was always there for his children, coaching sports teams, heading up carpools, and quietly making countless sacrifices to support them.

As a zaida, he treasured every opportunity to connect with his grandkids. Whether sharing his favourite pastimes, introducing them to computer games, trading music recommendations, or planning trips to the driving range, he always found thoughtful ways to stay involved in their lives.

Jim is survived by his daughter Jennifer McKiel and her husband Andy, along with his granddaughters, Rachel and Abigail; his son Jonathan Davis and his wife Hyun Jung, along with his granddaughters, Amelia and CJ.

A joint service celebrating both Jim and Debby’s lives has been held. The family is grateful for the overwhelming kindness, shared memories, and support from friends and the community. The family would also like to thank the staff of 3 North at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion during his recent stay.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
