DEBORAH ANN DAVIS (née TESSLER)

DEBORAH ANN DAVIS (née TESSLER)
Deborah Ann Davis (née Tessler) passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, just five days after the passing of her husband of 58 years, Jim Davis.
Debby was born and raised in Winnipeg’s North End, and she was proud of her roots. She often shared stories about her Baba Rose, and remained close friends with people she had first met as a young girl growing up on Bluebell Avenue.
Debby was exceptionally warm and had a natural ability to make instant connections. Family members lovingly remember her habit of stepping into Garry’s Deli on Jefferson for some quick shopping, only to return to the car accompanied by an elderly shopper she had struck up a conversation with in line, having offered them a ride home.
She dedicated her career to helping others. She worked at Manitoba Opera, Manitoba Riding for the Disabled, and the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. In the last chapter of her career, she worked as an educational assistant at Gray Academy. She also volunteered with ORT and later the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba.
Debby is survived by her daughter Jennifer McKiel and her husband Andy, along with her granddaughters, Rachel and Abigail; her son Jonathan Davis and his wife Hyun Jung, along with her granddaughters, Amelia and CJ; her sister Shelley Robertson and her husband Peter; her sister Susan Tessler and her husband David Gillies; and her nephew Joseph and niece Laura, along with their families.
A joint service celebrating both Debby and Jim’s lives has been held. The family is grateful for the overwhelming kindness, shared memories, and support from friends and the community.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Debby’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
