CANADIAN SKIER NEEDS SURGERY AFTER INJURY
CANADIAN alpine skier Valérie Grenier says she injured her knee while training for the upcoming season and will require surgery.
Grenier said she was hurt two days ago while training for the season’s World Cup opener this weekend in Sölden, Austria. She is returning home and won’t know the extent of the injury until surgery on Friday.
The 29-year-old from St. Isidore, Ont., is a three-time Olympian and has six career World Cup medals, including three gold in giant slalom races.
